" Extreme point of the western world. Cherbourg. Where the moon performs its sudden unexpected eclypses, teared up in the night.
A house in the countryside as refuge, basement, collective, rehearsal room, recording studio. Everything fit in its place and you don’t understand.
People is flaming, in winter, under the alcool, behind glasses as bottles. The words are full of life, the cheeks become red. The music, so dense comples intricate beautiful. Only beautiful. Also beautiful. Expecially beautiful.
So many instruments, notes, composition. So much work, studies, research. Each note has is place. The music drives you crazy. ... That’s the guts trying to leave, about to going out of the body, wishing the nocturnal sea of cherbourg.
And nobody of you knows where it is. Go there. Take everything. " - Jacopo Andreini - Italia
"... Vive le rouge fait la preuve de cette efficacité redoutable, qui ne s'acquiert qu'avec un travail acharné et, surtout, une force d'âme extraordinaire, écarlate." - MAGIC - Revue Pop Moderne - France
" It is a luxury to have the pleasure of liking a rock’n’roll album but having to rest before biting into the next song - pieces with a Debussian synesthetical suggestion of an architectural construction appearing before your eyes, interwoven spinal cords interrupti. Is the beauty of VLR’s duality in their deliberate alienation from the product by harnessing brimming stylistic diversity and contrasts while simultaneously taking pleasure in decadently romantic paragraphs ? ... In VLR’s compositions quasi Finno-Ugric chants are naive as Jarmush’s tobacco shop, the melodic tissue is gently seducing but pervert as in US Maple’s guitarists - dadaistic and mimicring at the same time... " -

No one does music quite like Camille and Xavier do. I see their music as being akin to soundtracks for unfilmed movies. In this instance it is a movie about explorers of mountainous terrain, perhaps the terrain of our lives. Merci pour cette musique si intrigante. :-) sumbuk
